OK, experienced Yahoo! Groups users ... here's a non-letterboxing
question to which I cannot find the answer on Yahoo!
I want to search all messages in letterbox-usa for key words. I put
the key words in the search box and click "Search Archive". It
returns results (often without any of the key words in them) for only
the last x number of messages, not the whole archive. I have to
hit "Next" a zillion times to search more.
So, how does one search the full archive for a particular key word or
term?
Thanks,
CPAScott

That is the way you do it. Sometimes it returns messages that don't
appear to be related because they were part of the thread in which a
related message occurred.
It is clunky and time-consuming at best.

That's how it works, and then after a while Yahoo! puts up a message
that it's out of memory (or something like that), and that's the end
of your search. Your only other option of Archive search is to read
the messages one by one. Painfull.

That'd be fine, except it hasn't been updated in five years.

I don't think Phyto was suggesting that you use those pages as a
reference, as they are not really designed for that purpose. If you
are looking for specific information in the archives, you might try
google's "site" option, as someone already suggested. You may also
want to check out A9 (http://a9.com), which is a new search service
provided by Amazon. If you don't mind them using your searches to
drive advertisements (which google does too), you might find this
service adds some oomph to your searching by, among other things,
remembering your previous search results.
Oh, and by the way, the brief history pages were created earlier this
year. I hope to work on getting them caught up (Caught up? Yeah,
right! There's 45,000 freakin' posts!) when I get some free time, but
right now I'm swamped.
Carry on,
